For example, a Tampa Bay area police Cpl. saw his name on a popular police blog next to some disparaging comments about one of his colleagues. He wanted to find out who had stolen his identity to make the mean-spirited comments, so he pursued charges with the State Attorney's Office and requested a subpoena for the Internet protocol (IP) address, but the request was denied. The State Attorney felt that the posting did not meet the standards of criminal intent necessary to issue a subpoena.

Yet there is more then this one incident of identity theft on the same blog. Two other officers also filed complaints over the same kind of incident recently, and both of these posts were also ridiculing the same officer, so all of the incidents are likely connected.

Microsoft has followed its usual development formula of incorporating insights from beta testers to upgrade the browser's abilities before release.

Geolocation, WebM video and playback of H.264-encoded video using the HTML5 video tag are all upgrades to IE franchise, plus MS has sped up the Beta by 35% in the release candidate. MS is feeling pressure as its browser market dominance is eroded by Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, although Internet Explorer is still America's most used browser.
